Barcoding Advice

  How to Barcode

A four step guide to begin barcoding your organisation’s mail.

  Barcode Structure

To be eligible for discounts, barcodes must comply with Australia Post’s barcode structure. Within a barcode the bars are separated into fields, with each field containing bar symbols that represent characters, sorting fields and codes.

  Barcode Format

There are four main formats of barcodes. Customers can choose one of the four depending on their needs.

  Where to Barcode

Barcoded letters provide greater flexibility in address design and layout, however it is important to print the barcode in the correct location on the finished mail piece.
