Australia Post is today kicking off the 2007 AFL season by giving all Aussie Rules fans an opportunity to grab their team’s 2007 Official AFL Team Souvenir Booklet featuring a first-ever unique collectable gold medallion!
Ten key players from each club – their images and profiles – will again feature on each team’s product along with content such as the club’s history, the 2007 fixture and the theme song. This year, however, the 2007 AFL Booklets will also contain something a little different for all supporters – a unique, collectable gold medallion.
The cupro-nickel medallion is 30mm in diameter displaying the club logo on the front and the AFL logo on the reverse. The inclusion of the collectable medallion is a first for Australia Post and provides supporters with a truly unique keepsake of their team in 2007.
“The Season 2007 AFL Booklets are a unique way for all football fans to show their support to their team and their favourite players,” says Noel Leahy, Group Manager Philatelic, Australia Post. “With the focus on each club’s key players and the inclusion of the collectable medallion, we believe they are a fantastic way to kick off another exciting season of football in 2007.”
All 16 of the team booklets feature ten players, each appearing on the tab of a pair of 50c stamps, along with their individual player profiles. Another key feature of the 2007 Souvenir Booklets is the inclusion of a voucher that entitles the bearer to 10% off official AFL merchandise from participating Australia Post stores until 31st December 2007.
Each booklet worth $14.95, is available from participating Australia Post outlets while stocks last or via mail order on 1800 331 794. Overseas customers can purchase online at www.auspost.com.au/stamps
